Anne C. Ittner

Anne C. Ittner is an Assistant Professor of Elementary Education at Hamline University. She held positions as a classroom teacher, ESL teacher, and literacy coach for 14 years before transitioning to higher education and teacher education. Her research interests include literacy education for emergent bilinguals, word study, professional learning, and teacher education. Recent publications include Word Study for Literacy Leaders: Guiding Professional Learning with Frederick, Kiernan, and Bear (Guilford, 2023) and Insights into Multilingual Students to Capitalize on Language Knowledge with Helman and Jennerjohn (2025, The Reading Teacher).
