Gordon Blaine West is an Assessment Researcher with WIDA at the Wisconsin Center for Education Research. He has a PhD in Second Language Acquisition from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and an MA from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. He worked previously as an English language teacher and teacher educator in the U.S., Japan, and South Korea. His research interests are in transmodal communications, narrative analysis, and critical language pedagogy. His work has been published in Applied Linguistics Review, Critical Inquiry in Language Studies, Linguistics and Education, Multimodality & Society, and the International Journal of Bilingual Education and Bilingualism.
