Lesly Gámez is the Assistant Director of Equity and Learning in South St. Paul Public Schools and a Ph.D. student in Culture and Teaching at the University of Minnesota- Twin Cities. Lesly’s interest in immersion education comes from her experiences as a student in Spanish immersion, a teacher in immersion and dual immersion programs, an instructional coach, and through leadership in programming for English learners. Her research and academic interests include social and racial justice in education, culturally responsive pedagogies, critical race theory, and coaching and leadership for racial equity.
