Dr. Bigelow is a Professor of Second Language Education at the University of Minnesota. Her research interests span the fields of education, applied linguistics, and cultural studies. She has focused on the language learning and schooling experiences of refugee-background youth from East Africa for many years. Dr. Bigelow is also interested in teacher education and multilingual classroom pedagogies that support equity and access in education. She teaches Second Language Acquisition and language teaching methods courses and is a member of the MinneSLIFE interest section.
