Laura Clark Briggs, Ph.D., is a literacy researcher and educator whose work focuses on reading and writing in second language contexts, cross-script transfer, and literacy development among multilingual learners. She teaches English and world languages in Nashville, Tennessee, and has taught English as a second or foreign language in a range of international and U.S. educational settings. Her work bridges classroom practice and literacy research, with particular attention to how multilingual learners interpret complex texts and participate in academic discourse. She has presented nationally and internationally on literacy development, language learning, and writing in second language contexts.
