Bonnie Swierzbin is an unabashed grammar geek captivated by the myriad ways to create meaning in English. As an ESL teacher and language teacher educator, she helped her students view grammar as a resource for making meaning instead of dry rules to be memorized; in retirement, she continues to geek out about language. Dr. Swierzbin is the co-author (with Elaine Tarone) of Exploring Learner Language (Oxford University Press, 2009). A website adapted from the book is now available at https://carla.umn.edu/learnerlanguage/book.
